Tomorrow we have a pretty severe weather alert for possible tornadic activity. My sister and I were part of the April 27, 2011 tornado-spree. Our house got hit. It stayed standing, but it needed a lot of repairs afterward. But we were luckily and emerged only minorly injured, and the house was fixable. A lot of other folks lost everything.
So we come to it tomorrow, and I'm scared beyond belief. I try not to think about that day, the screaming and crying we did, the sound of the tornado hitting us (it really does sound like a freight train), the panicked cries of my cat, the thumps of debris hitting our house and our cars...
I just hope that I'm still around Saturday. It is probably irrational fear; tornadoes don't often hit the same house twice due to random pathing. But it could happen.
i hear that rumbling death-train coming 'round
and i pray that my body won't be found
While it may not be a TOTALLY rational fear (yes, it's true that tornadoes rarely hit the same house), it IS a totally understandable fear. I'm having similar worries today too. All I can see is myself sitting at my computer helplessly watching and praying for my friends and family as that monster tore through Tuscaloosa. I don't want anyone going through that again. I'm praying today and hoping things are ok. Love ya!
